The characters are all passengers on the space ship Prometheus. They are in suspended animation for the long voyage, their brains kept active by the simulation, which incorporates memories from each of them. But something has gone wrong, though all we know about that at this point is that it involves Maura and her brother. Can't wait for season 2!
