Darrel is a stoker on the Kerberos, often seen chatting with his friend Landon.
He was one of the few people who proved immune to the ticking, and later confronted an unknown man messing with a mysterious control panel in the engine room. After growing suspicious and attacking him with a shovel, the man used a hand held device to kill or incapacitate him.
