The Pyramid is required to escape the simulation, along with the key. It also seems to possess the ability to freeze time. Originally, the pyramid was black with a stone-like surface, but after Daniel reprogrammed the simulation, the new pyramid more so resembled a child's toy with Rubik's Cube-like features.
